DIY Wire Memo Board

While online recently I've seen quite a few of these black wire memo boards, and I completely fell in love. What I didn't fall in love with, however, was the price. Urban Outfitters are currently selling one here for £60(!!?!) I don't know about you, but I certainly don't have a spare £60 for what is essentially a sheet of wire, no matter how cool and Tumblr it looks. 

So, I took to doing it myself. Before I continue I should probably point out the fact that this probably doesn't even count as a DIY as all I did was hang the panel on the wall, but nonetheless, here goes. I found this panel on the Homebase for a very mere £8.49 and was more than ready to paint it/cut it to a better size. However, when it arrived it was ideal. On the website this is described as green, but it doesn't look very green to me? I'd initially planned on painting it black anyway, as I wanted it to match the general theme of my room. I've reorganised my room quite a lot recently and I haven't done an updated post, however here's the most recent if you were by any chance interested. 

The daisy print is just one from Ikea, I love how simple it looks! The postcards are from Paperchase, and the playing card is actually from Byron! (My Dad and I went there for lunch recently, and I just liked how it looks). The S hooks (that I realise have nothing on yet) were from Tiger, and I just really like the way they look. Am I a saddo, probably. Do I care, not in the slightest.

DIY Shabby Chic Bedside Table!!

This is going to be a really quick post about a DIY project I've recently completed......

I had an old beside table at home, but I'm not going to lie, it was really ugly! So I decided to add a personal touch to it! After seeing this method on Pinterest and many different home décor blogs I decided to give it a go myself!!

I started off by sanding it all down with some glass paper, until all the corners were ronded and the sides softer. I then painted every part of it with a few coats of a white paint. Next, I added some floral wallpaper to the front of all the shelves, to make it prettier and more feminine!

I think this bedside looks far better now I've decorated it and I'm so pleased with how it has turned out!!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

I can't believe that December is only 2 days away.... This year seems to have flown by! Not that I'm complaining as I have some really exciting things coming up. CHRISTMAS IS ONLY 27 DAYS AWAY! As you can probably tell I am so excited and I've already put up my little tree.

However, last year's decorations aren't quite making the cut this year - so I decided to make a few myself! These bows are really easy to make so I thought I'd show you how to make them!


You will need:

• Fabric
• Scissors
• Sellotape
• Chritmas Decoration Hooks

1. Cut a large rectangle of fabric, mine was 8cm by 18cm. Then cut another rectangle out but make this one 1cm by 18cm. Alternatively you could use a piece of ribbon.
2. Fold the edges of the larger rectangle under to ensure the sides don't fray. I used sellotape t keep them in place.
3. Fold the material in half to make a square.
4. Fold it in half again to make a rectangle.
5. Take the thin piece of fabric and tie it round the larger piece.
6. Knot it a second time to ensure it stays in place.
7. Trim the excess
8. Then use the Christmas decoration hooks to attach the bow to your tree.

These are really simple to make but I think they look really cute! They're also one of the cheapest DIY's ever!

Topshop DIY 2...

A little while ago I wrote a post all about a Topshop DIY shorts post that I'll link it here. And I thought I should upload the next 'installment'.

So ages ago I added these shorts to my basket, after deciding I needed these in my life. But once again I looked at the price: £34, and decided against it. I was questioning, are they really worth it? "They're just shorts with a bit of cloth".

   Which gave me the idea for this DIY.....

All you need is:

• Denim Shorts/ jeans too cut into shorts.
• Crochet fabric- available at any sewing shop/haberdashery
• Fabric glue
• Needle and white thread
• Scissors
• Pins

To start off quite simply, just place the fabric over one side of the shorts.

Pin the crochet fabric too the shorts.

Trim the excess around the edges.

Remove the pins and glue to the shorts- ensuring its lined up correctly.

Then take your needle and thread and sew the fabric to the denim.

To make these shorts more unique, you could dip dye the shorts/crochet fabric. Or tie dye the fabric or distress the shorts.

Topshop DIY ........ (1)

As you may have already guessed, I LOVE shorts. Particularly Topshop shorts. I am also loving tie dye and ombre at the moment. So when I saw all of these, with the two things mixed together, I fell in love. These shorts retail for an average of £34, if you ask me- that's not too bad, but it's still £34 I'm not willing to part with.

   As soon as I saw these, all I thought was a DIY was in order. I mean they should be easy to recreate at home! So all you would need are:
Some shorts/ or some old jeans you could cut into shorts.
Some dye
A large container to dye them in.

   To do the ombre ones just soak the bottom half in the dye for as long as the dye packet says. And the tie dye, just tie dye it as you would a t shirt. Making your own will ensure that they are unique and to your personal taste.

   To personalize them more you could paint splatter them with dye, bleach random parts or anything else creative you can think of.

A bucket of calories....

So today I thought I'd do my first blog post, on the 'life' section of my blog.Today I made a delicious milkshake. I am a great fan of Shakeaway, but there isn't one locally, so I thought I would make my own. All i used was milk, ice cream and marshmallows. For my milkshake I used semi skimmed milk, dairy vanilla ice cream and Flumps. So as for quantities, I used 1 Flump, maybe 2 table spoons of ice cream and half a glass that you are using of milk. For this 'recipe' I used a milkshake maker cup thing. But you can use a blender or whatever else you can think of,to make a delicious milkshake. The majority of the milkshake is done in one step- pour it all in the beaker. It is also done by taste, if you like a thicker milkshake add more ice cream. A top tip: Let the ice cream melt a little as it is easier to shake/blend. This is very sweet and full of calories, but that's the best way!
