That Time Becca Attempted Extensions...

My hair; I would definitely say it's one of my defining features. It's rather long and naturally, incredibly curly. Although, it's only been the latter for a few years. I had silky straight(ish) hair throughout the entirety of my childhood, and only in the last couple of years has my hair resembled a lion's mane.

To be honest, I've never really thought about getting hair extensions. I mean, yes they can look great, but equally I've seen a fair few dodgy looking sets, and I've never deemed them worth the risk. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this 22" Body Wave* as it honestly matches my hair colour perfectly.

These are clip in extensions, and rather fiddly. I find them easiest to put in, if I section my hair off and put one piece in at a time. However, I find the aforementioned method is rather time consuming, so I don't think these are going to become an everyday step in my hair routine.

The extensions are actually 100% human hair, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that aha. The more I think about it, the weirder it is to me. But I guess that's just personal preference...

In conclusion; I'm not sure if I'd buy another set in the future, as to be honest I can't really tell the difference between when they're in my hair or not. But that's probably got more to do with the fact that my hair is already rather long, than the extensions themselves. However, if you're looking for some extensions, these are incredibly soft and look really natural - so I'd definitely recommend giving them a go.

The Holiday Hair Edit

The Herbal Essences 'Bee Strong' range is currently my favourite. I've repurchased the shampoo and conditioner three times now, and I genuinely just love it. It smells incredible and also leaves my hair feeling nourished and soft, but it's also extremely affordable. So I was obviously going to stock up for my holiday.

While in Superdrug I noticed they sold the Strengthening Cream, so I thought I'd also take that to Florida with me, and give it a go. It's a leave in cream for damaged hair, so hopefully it'll work wonders on my chlorine filled, sun frazzled hair.

The Hask Hair Treatment is great. It leaves my hair both looking, and feeling, shiny and soft. I picked this up during my last Primark trip for only £2.50, so if you're looking for a hair oil, I'd definitely recommend this one!

Hask Argan Oil Review

Hair oils, I've always been rather dubious. I'm pretty sure everyone's heard of Macadamia Oil and Moroccan Oil, but they've never really appealed to me - especially as the latter is around £30. But when I was lucky enough to win this Hask hair oil in a giveaway, I knew I'd love it.

I always wash my hair in the evenings, as I feel like sleeping on my hair, makes it less frizzy?..  Anyway, I like to brush it all out while it's damp, and just pour a little blob of this oil into the palm of my hands, and just run it through the ends of my hair.

It leaves my hair feeling really soft and nourished, but it doesn't way it down at all. It smells delicious - just like oranges. I always see this range while at the tills in Primark, so I think I'll definitely have to try a few of their other products. Finally, I can't believe this is only £2.50 a bottle, I don't think I'll ever be without it!

The Quest For Nourished Hair

It's fair to say I've tried a fair few shampoos and conditioners over the last few months, and I've only just got round to finishing them off. I always seem to have a little bit left in each bottle that I never get around to using - just me? So this month, I've made a habit of using them up. Just me? So, for today's post I thought I'd do an empties post dedicated to haircare.

John Frieda Brilliant Shine* ~ I wasn't overly impressed by this duo to be honest. It smelt lovely - like a typical salon product. It lathered really well in my hair, but didn't leave it moisturised nor overly shiny. Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Conditioner ~ Now, I absolutely love the scent of this conditioner, I think that alone is what sold it to me. This leaves my hair feeling soft as well as easier to manage. Would I repurchase? Definitely.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde* ~ These left my hair feeling really nourished and moisturised, but, unfortunately, verging on greasy. They didn't really smell of anything which was a shame, as I love products that leave my hair smelling amazing. Would I repurchase? Maybe.

VO5 Give Me Moisture ~ The shampoo left my hair feeling rather stripped, so I wouldn't really recommend it if you have hair like mine - dry and curly. However, I did quite like the conditioner, plus I love the scent of these. Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Timotei Golden Highlights Conditioner ~ I really liked this conditioner. It left my hair feeling really soft, but I didn't notice a change in my hair colour at all. (I used this after I had my hair highlighted.) Would I repurchase? Maybe.

Have you tried any of these products?
