On Saturday evening I had a sudden strike of inspiration... Why not throw a surprise tea party for my Nannies birthday?! By the time I'd decided what I wanted to do, it was Sunday morning. Oh, and I should probably mention that my grandparents were coming around on Monday afternoon. Cue lots of manic party shopping.
Anyway, once I'd managed to buy everything on my list, it was time to head home to bake cupcakes. But, I feel like you can't have a birthday without lighting an actual cake, so more cake was obviously necessary. Also, I made quite a few of the decorations, and the others were just décor from my room.
Fast forward to the next day. The cupcakes were on the stand, the balloons blown up and the tea ready to pour. Perfect. I don't want to blow my own trumpet or anything but for a last minute plan, I thought the decorations looked lovely.
We had a lovely afternoon and oh my, the endless supply of cake was delicious.
