Over the last week or so I've been taking part in the #makeitmineral challenge. Which basically involves replacing your usual products - with, you guessed it - mineral equivalents from Sheercover. Recently I've been trying out the starter kit* (in light), so today I thought I'd let you now what I think of it.
Okay, so the products that I was most looking forward to trying were the Lengthening Mascara and the Lash Extending Fibers. I like to apply a thin coat of the mascara, followed by a thin layer of the fibers then finish with another thin coat of mascara. And oh my, they make my lashes look lovely. If you've been reading Becca's Fashion and Life for a while, you'll probably be aware that I don't tend to wear foundation on a daily basis. That being said, I did give the Mineral Foundation a go, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a really good match for my skintone, and despite not being the greatest of coverages, I love how it makes my skin look, plus it contains SPF 15.
I don't like writing negative reviews, but I wasn't a fan of the Sun-kissed Bronzing Minerals. They're not very pigmented and I'm not a big fan of the darker shades. However, I do quite like the lightest colour as it makes a lovely browbone highlight.
I personally find concealers to be either hits or misses, but I personally quite like this Conceal and Brighten Trio. The texture is really creamy and I really like the coverage of these as they're quite buildable. The lightest nude shade is my favourite, and I also find it blends really well with my skintone.
Included in the set was my 'free gift' which was a box containing these brushes. They're nice and everything, but nothing really to write home about. But I absolutely love the dark wood with the contrasting lilac metal - brownie points for aesthetics.
Okay, so the final verdict, will I be replacing my standard products with mineral equivalents: probably not.
