YSL Gold Leaf Review

Can we all take a moment to appreciate this packaging. I mean, wow. It's just so classy and sophisticated - and definitely something to write home about. I feel gold can go on of two ways: beautiful or tacky, lets put it this way, it's certainly not the latter!

I bought this in duty free back in August, on my way home from Venice, and I absolutely love it! Gold Leaf is a yellowy gold, with lots of lovely shimmer running through it. This shadow is definitely on the highly pigmented side of the spectrum, considering how pale the shade actually is.

Another thing I love is the little brush that comes in the compact. I mean, it's really soft and I could happily use it when out and about, instead of having to carry around my typical shading brush. It's far better than the standard doe foot applicator that normally accompanies these little palettes.

I don't tend to use an eyelid primer with this as it already stays put throughout the day. This shadow has a very creamy velvety texture and definitely feels very 'high end.'

To me, this is the perfect festive shadow - and I'll definitely be sporting this on the 25th!
