ON: Revision.

The dreaded r word. My first exam of the season is rapidly approaching, and I feel like I ought to get revising. Although, that's definitely easier said than done. Reading a book might work for some people, but it doesn't really help me, so onto my first point.

Find what works for you. For me, I like making little colourful note cards, with just the key facts.  That way you're reading the facts from a book, copying them down, and then re-reading them in your own time. I personally also find watching videos really useful. So just work out what's best for you!

Treats and rewards. A favourite of mine is cake - specifically chocolate, if possible. I like to set little goals for myself, then if I succeed I'll have a little treat. This could be anything from a snack to buying something online...

Regular breaks. I find I work best in short bursts. So instead of sitting at the table for hours on end, a quick tea break or jog (if you're that way inclined) can do wonders for ones concentration. Or, just have a quick scroll through Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Bloglovin. But watch out - don't get too carried away!

Make a timetable. This has been the best thing I've done to date. Before, I felt like I didn't know what to revise. So I'd spend time just trying to decide what to do, and then just never really get anything done.

Prioritise. I'm not great at 'Dividing Polynomials' so I know to try and spend more time doing practice questions on those, rather than other maths questions. Also, which exam is first? Which is last? Knowing that definitely helps when it comes to deciding which specific unit to revise and when.

  1. I am so not looking forward to the start of exams! I have useless concentration and I've been listening to static noise on youtube and I find that it helps me! I like making my notes colourful and it makes it slightly more bearable! I also may have made a hefty beauty order yesterday...
Best of luck with your revision and exams! :D

  2. I detest revision. But recently after my mocks I decided to really up my game, it was only science mocks but I'm awful at science, I got 2 As and a C which I felt happy with as I struggle with science, but making timetables and being organised definitely calms you, this was such a lovely post!

  5. My tip for calculation based subjects like maths is to mark your own work in a different coloured pen. Then you can easily flick through your jotters and see which areas need the most work.

  7. I do NOT miss revising! I found writing out essay plans for my subjects and learning them makes it so much easier than just learning pages and pages of facts - obviously not for maths though! Good luck with your exams :) xx
