Building My Mac Quad

I featured this little beauty in my birthday haul, and I can't wait to use it! In case you hadn't realised, this is my first foray into Mac palette building, and I'm already excited to buy my next shade! For those of you who - like me - are new to all this, an empty quad is £6.50. You then add the individual pans yourself, each of which retails for £10.

I honestly hadn't realised how easy the whole process was. Both the pans and the palette are magnetic, making this the easiest thing to assemble. Anyway, the shades I chose were Sable and Satin Taupe, both of which I've heard so much about. They're both shimmery neutral shades, which I think will look lovely on their own, as well as blended with other shades!

To fill my two remaining spaces, I think I'd like a pale shade and maybe a matte brown for the crease... Any recommendations?

  5. Though re: the colours you actually requested - if you're looking for a pale skin tone-y colour, brule. Or one of the two from my other colour if you mean pale neutrals. Matte brow - I love Charcoal Brown.

  9. Sable, Satin Taupe, Sumptuous Olive and Patina are the most used shades in my palette. I use Wedge (a matte mid-brown) for the crease, it adds some warmth without being too orange. I originally only intended on having a quad but got a bit addicted! I've done a blog post on the 11 that I own if you need some inspiration for shades to buy - http://www.nickisnicknackery.com/2014/02/mac-eyeshadow-palette-update.html
