Macaroons in Knightsbridge - Matalan Movie Club

A couple of weeks ago a really exciting email popped into my inbox, all about Matalan's move club event which was being held in London. My Mum, Sister and I bought our coach tickets and started counting down the days - well I did anyway.I set my alarm for 6.30 - yes, you did read that correctly - and we left the house at about 8.45. Luckily the National Express coach we were on, did have wifi on board which made for a very happy Becca.
As soon as we arrived we headed straight to Oxford Street. I did buy a couple of bits so expect to see those in the near future.

Sophie and I had arranged to meet 10 minutes early so we could walk to the venue together, and wow, were we impressed as we approached the Bulgari Hotel. It's just down the road from Burberry, in Knightbridge and is absolutely beautiful! I don't think I've ever been to such a swanky hotel - definitely worth it's 5 stars on appearance alone!

Once we'd entered our room for the afternoon we were greeted by lots of lovely staff and plenty of drinks and canapés. We then mingled and had a browse of Matalan's autumn collection - which is available to buy right now!

While I was there I had my first macaroon, and my second, third, fourth and fifth.They. Were. Delicious.

Ruth from Matalan then gave a little presentation while we were sat in the hotel's cinema (yep, the Bulgari has it's own cinema) about their plans to have a couple of stores on the highstreet rather than being fully retail park based. Matalan have also been working hard to sell more on trend items, as well as upping the quality of the clothes they sell.

Next up was the film along with an abundance of popcorn and refreshments. We saw Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris which was a really lovely, romantic film. It's definitely made me fall in love with Paris!

After the film we all went our separate ways - but it'd be lovely to see everyone again! I then met back up with my Mum and Sister, and we decided to go back to Oxford Street for a little bit more retail therapy, before catching the coach home again.

All in all, I had a brilliant day and I want to thank all the people at Matalan, and the Bulgari staff for putting on such a lovely event!

Do you ever have a browse in Matalan?
What do you think of macaroons?
