MUA Nail Polishes Review - Worth A Try?

A while ago the MUA nail polishes had a little make over, and ever since I've been itching to get my hands on a couple of their new shades. I mean, the bottles are oh so Essie, and the shades are just so pretty. I've been meaning to pick up some of these bargainous £1 polishes for ages, but the prettier shades have always been out of stock.

I have two polishes in: Bright Coral - a lovely vibrant pinky red and Amaretto Crush - a dusky pinky nude. The polishes come in teeny little glass 6.2ml bottles with the MUA logo on the side. The brushes are thin but still really quite dense, which makes it really easy to apply the nail polish without it going everywhere. I'm not sure why Amaretto Crush has decided to separate though - I've tried shaking it up, but alas, no success.

This is just one coat.
As you can see the formula of Bright Coral appears to be much more opaque than Amaretto Crush. And in a rush I wouldn't mind just going out with just one coat of Bright Coral, as it looks really glossy and lovely.

With a second coat.
The above picture is without any topcoat - aren't the polishes amazingly glossy? I find these polishes last a good 3 or 4 days on my nails without chipping, when I use them alongside my trusty Seche Vite topcoat.

I think we should quickly, just address the elephant in the room - yes, these look like the infamous Essie nail polishes. But personally, I don't mind to much, and it's not really too much of an issue.

So, for £1, if you're looking for a cute looking, glossy nail polish MUA is the place to go! I'm still trying to get hold of Pistachio Ice Cream, which is a gorgeous pale mint green colour.

Have you tried these polishes?
What do you think of the whole Essie/MUA thing?

  3. For just £1 they're pretty great, it's a shame they pinched a design already out there though.
