Hold on, is this a post that doesn't feature a cream eyeshadow?! Since Essence products are now available to buy, here in England. I thought it was about time I let you know what I thought about this gorgeous eyeshadow - Irresistible Caramel Cream. This was only about 4 euros when I bought it in Venice, and I'm not quite sure what I think of it...
I keep this compact in my makeup bag because it's just so convenient. I typically wear a gold shadow all over the lid with a brown shade blended into the crease, which is why this is so handy! It doesn't come with a little mirror nor a little doe foot applicator, but I don't mind as the packaging is just so slim and easy to carry around.
Okay, so the pigmentation. I'm not sure what I think. The champagne colour is relatively pigmented, and I think it makes a lovely highlight for the cheekbones! The brown however, is what's letting this product down for me. It's not all that pigmented and I find the longevity isn't fab either. Boo. (P.S. the swatch above shows a lot of product, as anything less wouldn't photograph correctly.)
I think my favourite thing about this, is definitely the 3D swirled effect! I mean, for a 4 euro eyeshadow I'm totally impressed! Overall, I'm not quite sure what I think of this product, and I hope I find a way to use it up!
What's your favourite powder eyeshadow?

It's so gorgeous on the pan, wish it'd perform better x
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too!xx
DeleteThis looks gorgeous! Slightly disappointing that it isn't more pigmented though!

Yeah, it's such a shame!xx
DeleteThat's such a shame - it looks gorgeous! I'll be taking a look at their highlighters though!

Yeah right!
DeleteThey're definitely worth a look at :)xx
I'm from Germany where we've had Essence for a while so it's funny seeing how hyped up everyone is about it at the moment! I don't like the packaging they do and in Germany it's aimed more for the younger teen crowd but maybe it's worth a try? Shame this eyeshadow didn't live up to expectations it does look lovely in the pan

Aaaaah, really?
DeleteYeah, definitely!xx
I think it looks nice, but I think you'd have the build it up quite a lot to achieve a good pigmentation. x

I love essence - for their nail polish and old liquid liner. They even have lovely blushers and bronzers. I've never tried the 3D eyeshadows but it's a shame to hear they're not that great. The champagne colour here is fab though. Pity the brown isn't as good!

DeleteOoooh, okay!
Yeah, definitely!xx
That's too bad for the intensity! I love the brand, and their products are usually really pigmented.

Yeah, I was expecting more!

It looks like a gorgeous colour and fab price, but if it doesn't delver amazingly id rather pay my ten pound extra for body shop.. Which is probably bad haha! X

I've got quite a few Essence products because we've had them for years in Malta.. the eyeshadows are ALWAYS a bit of a letdown, except for the limited editions. Their new formula nail polishes (they had these 5ml ones before they renovated the whole thing including the formula) aren't as great as the old formula :( The best thing from Essence are the new matte lipsticks, their limited edition products, lip liners and their eye pencils! Never tried blush or other face products from there so can't tell!
ReplyDeleteCatrice on the other hand are amazing for almost everything :D I love their eyeshadows and nail polishes the most x
