Bourjois Smoky Eyes

Before 2013, I'd never tried a product from Bourjois. But over the last few months I've been collecting a few more of their products, and this eyeshadow trio is the newest to make its way into the collection. Because, as most of you'll already know, gold and brown shadows are my favourite!

So, Bourjois' Modore Chic contains 3 beautiful, neutral shades: a shimmery champagne, a coppery gold and a chocolate brown. Packaging wise, this compact isn't anything to write home about, but it is really sturdy. This, as always, comes with a sponge applicator.

Texture wise these shadows feel really smooth and silky, but the pigmentation isn't all that great. When applied with a brush, there is next to no colour pay off with the lighter two shades, which is a bit of a shame. However, I really like the darkest shade - it's a gorgeous crease colour!

I find with an eyeshadow base, these last all day without fading - which is perfect! But, because this is such a handy little trio, I don't mind carrying it around in case my shadow needs touching up!

What do you think of Bourjois products?
Have you tried this trio?

  1. Bourjois is one of my favourite (if not my favourite) drugstore brands. Almost every product is on the spot. I was planning on buying this trio, the colors look amazing. Thinking about it though, if the color pay off isn't all that good.

  2. I have some of these and really like them, I have found that the colour doesn't really get picked up by a normal brush but if you use the applicator that comes with it, it picks up and apply's the colour well :)

  3. I've had this sitting in my makeup collection for about a year or so now and still not bothered to try it! I think I picked it up from TK Maxx in a wee set with a mascara and lip gloss. I'll need to try it out tomorrow and see what the colours are like on me.

  4. I got the black smoky eye kit in a set I got for Christmas. I haven't used it yet, but I think it looks good. Very pigmented when I swatched it!

Maybe it's just this shade that lacks pigmentation?xx

  7. Didn't know this one is new? i tried it quite a while ago now but i didn't like it really! One massive tip i would give is not to wear an eyeliner with this one because the shimmer just falls onto it and makes it look horrible!
