30 Ways To Save £1.....

I've seen many of these posts pop up here and there so I thought it'd be a great way to come up with some money saving tips for you all!

"To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the £1 coin, we're asking the UK's most talented and creative bloggers to give us as many money saving tips as they can. We want 1,000, to be precise!"  More details on this competition can be found here.

So onto my tips:
1) Look online for discount codes if you're buying clothes online.
2) Try the cheaper alternatives to the branded food products.
3) Go thrifting, you never know what you might find.
4) Instead of buying a takeaway make your own from scratch.
5) Shop in the sales, there's always a bargain to be had.
6) Have a packed lunch instead of buying lunch at work.
7) Borrow books from a library, instead of buying them.
8) Try a hair dye kit, instead of going to the salon.
9) Carry a bottle of water around with you so you don't need to buy any.
10) When you go food shopping know exactly what you need.
11) Buy things in multi packs, it works out cheaper in the long run.
12) Do some DIY's for around the home or clothing.
13) Book flights, trips, holidays early for discounts.
14) Walk places instead of getting a bus/driving.
15) Grow your own vegetables.
16) Make handmade gifts.
17)Use your washing machine at a lower temperature.
18) Read reviews of things before buying them, they might not be worth buying in the end.
19) Go outlet shopping.
20) Buy a magazine subscription.
21) Use energy saving light bulbs instead of normal power ones.
22) Pile on the clothes instead of turning up the heating.
23) Don't buy mini products, refill smaller bottles with your normal everyday products.
24) Dry clothes out on the line instead of in a tumble drier.
25) Buy travel cards if you use public transport regularly.
26) Have showers instead of baths.
27) Sign up to loyalty cards.
28) Break bath bombs in half so you get double the uses!
29) Collect change in a jar, it adds up pretty quickly.
30) Use iMessage instead of texting.

So there you have my 30 tips, I hope they helped you in some way!
